The U.S. Department of Defense has provided 3 million civilian and military personnel with access to ChatGPT Mil and Grok for Government, which will operate on the GenAI.mil portal. The platform is a closed environment and does not transmit data to the developers of the AI models. Currently, more than 1.7 million defense sector employees are already using the service.

Each neural network will have its own specific purpose. ChatGPT will assist with administration, logistics, planning, and document analysis, while Grok will handle analytics across a wide range of areas, from procurement to combat-related decisions.

All services will operate using SpaceX's Starshield AI. Meanwhile, Claude was not included in the AI package due to its refusal to cooperate with the Pentagon.
