Streaming services are tightening the rules for musical works created with the help of artificial intelligence. The situation gained momentum after a scandal involving an AI-generated cover of a Madonna song that unexpectedly climbed to the top of the Australian charts. Following this, platforms began introducing detection systems, mandatory labeling, and restrictions on the promotion of AI-generated content.
For example, Deezer is already removing AI-generated tracks from recommendations, Spotify requires disclosure of how tracks were created or generated, and Bandcamp blocks fully AI-generated albums. At the same time, Yandex Music has introduced AI content labeling and a "Less AI" button, allowing users to reduce the amount of such content in their recommendations.
