Anthropic, the company behind the popular Claude line of models, is warning the world that neural network technologies may soon take a colossal leap forward. At present, these systems have a powerful accelerator pedal, but lack effective braking mechanisms.

According to experts, the main challenge is recursive self-improvement — a scenario in which one AI system independently trains, creates, and deploys more advanced versions of itself. For instance, Claude already generates around 80% of the company’s code, while humans primarily oversee and verify the output.

As these processes become more autonomous, humanity faces a range of existential questions. We may no longer fully understand how such systems function, making global AI regulation a critical issue for the entire world. Put simply: what will be the role of humans in a world increasingly shaped by neural technologies?
