As part of a joint project by Gazprom Neft, Innopolis University, and Nedra Digital, a new AI-powered platform is being developed to assist with geomechanical modeling of the Earth’s subsurface. This refers to the preliminary stage of field development, where researchers assess the structure of a deposit and forecast the volume of natural resources using various tools—from electrical to seismic methods. At the core of the new solution will be an artificial intelligence model that helps evaluate potential risks and operational challenges—and, most importantly, shows how different errors can be prevented. This approach will not only enhance safety during production but also significantly improve the efficiency of operations right from the planning stage.
